We are a family of hedgehogs building a P2P social network, decentralized by nature, focused on privacy, to be used by anyone, anywhere.
In praxeology, every human action seeks to move from a less satisfactory state to a more satisfactory one. SpikeToSpike exists to make something already natural in the market simpler and more accessible: people trading with each other, voluntarily and directly.
How it works
SpikeToSpike is not an exchange and does not act as a fund intermediary.
We do not execute orders nor maintain general custody of users' funds. Any custody, when it exists, is limited, temporary, and tied to specific platform functions, such as operational guarantees or clearly defined products.
Our role is to connect two ends, those who want to buy and those who want to sell, offering an organized environment, with a friendly experience, clear guidelines, security mechanisms, and support.
The operation is similar to platforms like Uber and Airbnb: two parties with aligned interests connect directly, while the platform organizes the environment so the relationship works properly. At SpikeToSpike, these two parties are people who want to trade directly.
Within the platform, users take on two main roles:
• Finders, who create demand by seeking to buy or sell Bitcoin.
• Providers, who provide liquidity and fulfill orders, following the platform's guidelines.
The technology
SpikeToSpike's social and communication layer is built on a decentralized architecture, using the Nostr protocol. This allows interactions, chats, and connections between users to happen more resiliently, with less dependence on centralized structures and greater alignment with principles of individual sovereignty and privacy.
In practice, SpikeToSpike acts as a coordination layer: it organizes flows, connects participants, sets standards of conduct, and offers support, without interfering in the formation of the market reference price, with the final transaction cost determined by the platform's fees and operational rules.
If any problem arises during a trade, the user can contact the platform support directly, the SpikeHelper, providing the order chat ID. Each case is reviewed carefully.
